Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at our Trimax dual-locking laminated solid steel padlock. Folks, this is a 1 inch wide by a 1/4 inch thick shackle. It's solid steel and it is what's considered a laminated body, so you've got all these thin layers of steel. Now, that's gonna provide the security, the durability, and the strength against physical attacks.

And you get two keys of course. And you simply unlock it, and then when you need to, you can just simply lock it back in place without the key having to be in there. So folks, we all know about padlocks, it's not much more to go over. It is made of a hardened steel, so it's gonna be resistant to cutting and sawing attempts and those kind of things. As we all know, locks are pretty much gonna to keep honest people honest, right So, do your best, lock up your gear, make a nice deterrent to theft, and those kind of things.

This is a great option to have. That's gonna wrap it up for our look together. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.

  • Do I Need Special Lock For M3 Cam Action Door Latch M393FR 36 Inch ?
Good question, Dana. The Cam-Action 36" Latch # M393FR has a standard lock tab that’ll take most trailer-style padlocks, disc locks or weather-resistant shrouded padlocks are the most popular since they’re harder to cut. You don’t need anything proprietary. Do you already have locks you’re using on your trailer, or are you looking to upgrade that too? If you need one, I'd go with something like # TMX64QR to keep everything theft-resistant. For others who’ve used this latch - which padlock...

  • How To Lock And Secure A Cam Action Trailer Door Latch? Padlock?
Lisa, the 45" latch # M343FR has a built-in hasp so you can add a padlock, but M3 doesn’t include one. Most folks go with a basic padlock like # TMX64QR, but for more security you can instead go with the # ML40D since it's more difficult to get in there and cut or break. If you already have a favorite lock you use on your coupler or toolbox, you can probably use the same style here for convenience. And for others browsing, what locks have given you the best peace of mind with your cargo...

Julia, the 45" latch kit # M343FR is complete - rods, keepers, handle, and mounting hardware brackets are all included. You’ll just add your own padlock for security, such as the # TMX64QR, and find some carriage bolts and nuts/washers at your local hardware store. No need to source rods separately, which makes install a one-shot job. And to anyone else browsing, what’s been your go-to lock for trailer hardware that lives outdoors year-round?

Kevin, the Cam-Action Lockable Door Latch for enclosed trailers # M393FR is a full assembly - you’ll get the top and bottom rods, cam ends, keepers, and handle bracket. The only thing you add is hardware (carriage bolts, washers, nuts from local store) along with a padlock if you want it lockable, such as the # TMX64QR. Are you just refreshing the latch, or did it break / get bent?

  • How Difficult To Replace Door Latch On 2006 Wells Cargo Enclosed Trailer?
Maria, if you’re comfortable with basic hand tools, it’s a straightforward project to install the Cam-Action Lockable Door Latch For Trailers # M363FR. You’ll bolt the keepers to the frame, mount the handle bracket on the door, and align the rods top and bottom. The biggest step is making sure everything is square so the rods seat into the keepers smoothly. No bending or welding is required - it’s all pre-formed and ready to go! You may want to add a padlock though # TMX64QR. Do you want...
